Glad to know your friend is moving on with his life. Poor guy. He sounds like a honest and nice person. I guess it will take sometime for him to get over the pain from the previous relationship, even he goes to bars everyday. I hope he's not going to jump into a new relationship too quickly, or his chances of making the same mistake or ending up being with a wrong person are very high. Good luck to him.
