About Us

We are two brothers from Canada.  We grew up near Toronto and are now living in Shanghai.  We’ve been to many different countries and have travelled all over China.  We’ve seen and taught thousands of students who find learning English difficult and boring.  We decided to make something interesting and useful so that students could improve their English rapidly, while having fun at the same time.

We make an entertaining English learning podcast every week that students download and listen to on their computer or mp3 player.  We discuss interesting topics about all kinds of different things.  We use and explain words and phrases that we actually use in our daily lives.  We also point out common language mistakes that many learners make.  We share stories about our lives and talk about cultural differences.  We talk in a fun and relaxed way.  We want our listeners to be our friends.  Our goal is to have our listeners forget that they are even learning English, and are instead just listening to our show because they enjoy it.

We’ve literally received thousands of emails from people all over the world saying that they are "addicted" to the podcast and can hardly wait for new episodes to come out.  They say that since they started listening, their English level and self-confidence have improved dramatically.  This amazing feedback gives us the motivation to continue with this project.

We’ve now had over 2 million downloads of our podcast.  We have thousands of fans from over 160 countries around the world.  Our popularity is growing all the time.

THE TEAM

Andrew:

I majored in mathematics and psychology in university.  Instead of getting a "real job" after graduating, I decided to move to China to live what I think is a more interesting lifestyle.  Some people think I’m crazy for doing it but I have no regrets.  It’s a lot fun and a great learning experience.  I taught at a large university for 2 years in Xi an, a major city in western China.  I had such a good time that I decided to stay in China and invite Addison, my younger brother, to join me on this adventure.  I’m now based in Shanghai working as a freelance marketing consultant.  I like working out, playing tennis, travelling, learning Chinese, meeting new people, and having fun.  I’m always open to new ideas and opportunities so feel free to contact me.

Addison:

I majored in economics at Mcmaster University in Canada.  I came out to China and travelled around with Andy after I graduated.  I then moved to Shanghai and haven’t looked back.  I enjoy working out, playing sports, cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  I also enjoy learning new things and always try to improve myself.  For the last two years I have been trying to learn everything I can about the internet and websites.  If you have any questions or just want to say hello you can contact me.
